Net backend blocks on "rcvfrom" call in it's initialize code. If the backend does not connect to a master machine, then the entire jackd process (jackd xxx -d net) cannot be stopped using Ctrl-C. Using "poll" should be more adapted. |

From Rorben Hohn: i thought a little bit about the handling of slow-sync clients in netjack. to make them really work, we need a way to start the transport on the slave n periods before the master transport starts. an intermediate transport state between STARTING and ROLLING which lasts a client set amount of periods would be sufficient. so after all slow-sync clients are ready the transport would switch to START_COUNTDOWN. Normal clients not requesting this feature would still see STARTING during this time, so it can be made transparent. i hope this is clear enough for the people involved in netjack. |
